High Point Gutter installed 94 feet of 6-inch Gutter Clean Pro guards on the existing black gutters of a modern Redmond home in October 2026. Before the guards went on, the crew resloped 49 feet of gutter on super hangers, lowered two gutters so new flashing could fit above them, and added 34 feet of black step-down flashing. The home was assessed in December 2025, and the work was done October 14, 2026.

What High Point found

The estimator visited on December 13, 2025, in the rain. The photos show the gutters along the metal and low-slope roofs holding standing water, with green algae on the inside walls and orange conifer needles piled at the outlets. At one downspout the needles had built up into a mat over the opening.

Below one roof edge, dark streaks ran down the fascia. The estimator marked two gutters on a photo to be lowered, resloped, and flashed.

Why the quote went beyond guards

The quote fixed the gutters before covering them. Forty-nine feet were resloped on super hangers so water runs to the downspouts. Two gutters, 19 feet in all, were taken down and reinstalled lower, to leave room for flashing above them. Then 34 feet of step-down flashing went in behind the existing flashing, to keep water from getting behind the gutter.

The crew note on the quote is specific about color: the step-down flashing had to be black, to match the all-black gutters on the house.

The guards are Gutter Clean Pro, in the 6-inch size to fit the existing gutters. The quote describes it as a dual-membrane cover and lists the manufacturer’s 45-year clog-free warranty against leaves and conifer needles.

How the project was completed

The homeowner signed the quote in September 2026, nine months after the assessment. On October 14 the crew cleaned the gutters and downspouts, blew off the roofs, resloped and re-hung the runs, lowered the two gutters, installed the black step-down flashing, reconnected three downspouts, and installed 94 feet of Gutter Clean Pro. Photos on October 16 show the finished guards below the flashing at the low-slope roof.

Gutter guard cost in Redmond, WA

This project fell in the $2,900 to $4,800 range. That covered 94 feet of 6-inch Gutter Clean Pro, 49 feet of reslope, the 19-foot rehang, 34 feet of step-down flashing, three downspout hook-ups, the cleaning, and the roof blow-off.

The guards were about half the price. The rest went to fixing the gutters underneath them. A home whose gutters already drain correctly would need only the cleaning and the guards. This range reflects the scope of this completed project and is not a current quote.

What homeowners considering gutter guards should know

Fix the gutters before the guards. On this house, 49 feet were resloped before any guard went on.

Flashing matters at low-slope roof edges. On this house two gutters were lowered so flashing could fit above them.

On a house with a strict color scheme, ask about flashing color. Here the crew note required black.
