Seamless Gutters for Homes in the Greater Seattle Area

Sectional gutters are what you find at the home center. The material is fine. The joints are the problem. Sealant dries out, the metal expands and contracts through our wet winters and dry summers, and within a few years the joints start to drip.

Seamless gutters put joints only where they cannot be avoided: inside and outside corners and the downspout outlets. Those few joints are riveted and sealed, and there are usually four to eight of them on a whole house instead of thirty or forty.

Seattle sees close to 40 inches of rain a year, most of it between October and April. Steep roofs, big roof planes, and long valleys push a lot of water to the gutter at once.

That is why we size gutters to the roof, not to a default. Many homes here do better with 6-inch gutters and 3x4 downspouts, which carry roughly 40 percent more water than a standard 5-inch setup.

We also pitch every run toward its downspout and add downspouts where a long run needs them, so water leaves the roofline instead of pooling at the corners and spilling over onto your foundation.
