High Point Gutter replaced the gutters on a two-story Woodinville home surrounded by tall evergreens in September 2026. The crew removed 203 feet of old brown gutter and installed 203 feet of 6-inch K-style seamless aluminum gutter with DoublePro gutter covers, 125 feet of new downspout, and seven valley diverters. During the install the crew found rotted fascia and rafter tails at the roof edge, and the homeowner approved 39 feet of new fascia and 16 sistered rafter tails on site.

What the homeowner asked for

The homeowner booked a repair assessment for August 7. The assessment photos mark several problems on the old brown gutter system: one run marked as out of slope, a section of fascia at the rear of the house that needed re-fastening, a downspout that had come loose from the wall, and downspouts that could be tied together.

The old gutters were also full. Assessment photos show needles and other debris packed into the trough around the original hangers. The house sits among tall evergreens.

Why High Point quoted a replacement

The assessment turned into a quote for a full gutter replacement rather than a list of repairs. The quote priced removing all 203 feet of the old system and replacing it with 6-inch K-style gutter, along with new downspouts throughout.

Gutter covers were part of the same quote. High Point recommends DoublePro for homes with firs, pines or other heavy tree cover, which describes this property. DoublePro is a continuous hanger with a built-in cover, so it replaces both the hanger and the cover in one piece.

Getting roof water into the gutter

This roof has a lot of places where water can miss a gutter, and much of the quote deals with them:

  • Seven valley diverters. Where two roof planes meet in a valley, water comes down fast and can shoot over the front of the gutter. A diverter is a piece of metal on top of the gutter that acts as a backboard so that water drops inside instead.
  • Two barge end diverters. Sheet metal diverters made for the open barge ends of the roof, to turn water from the overhang into the gutter.
  • 40 feet of counter flashing. Tucked behind the existing drip edge to close the gap between the roof edge and the top of the gutter, so water does not run down behind it.
  • One closed cutback. A gutter end cut and closed to follow the roof angle where it meets the roof.
  • One Rot Stopper downspout. It carries water from an upper downspout across the lower roof and into the lower gutter. It is coated with embedded granules in Buckskin so it reads as part of the roof.

What the crew found during the install

The quote already included re-fastening 15 feet of fascia at the rear of the house. Once the old gutter came off, the crew found more: rotted fascia boards and rafter tails that were rotted out. A gutter can only be as secure as the wood it is screwed into.

The crew wrote up the extra work on site and the homeowner approved it the same day:

  • 39 feet of rotted fascia removed and replaced with new fascia board.
  • 16 rafter tails sistered. A new rafter tail was fastened onto each rotted one to give the gutter a solid place to attach.
  • One new outlet for a rain chain.

That on-site work was added to the original quote. It is the part of this project that a homeowner cannot see from the ground before the old gutters come off.

How the new system went up

The work ran over two days, September 18 and 19. The gutter was formed on site from .032-gauge aluminum in Low Gloss White and fitted with DoublePro along the full 203 feet. All nine corners were hand-mitered on site and sealed with flexible silicone rather than using pre-made box miters. The 125 feet of 2×3-inch downspout uses hidden back fasteners, and the two tie-in downspouts bring downspouts together into a shared run.

Gutter replacement cost in Woodinville, WA

This project fell in the $8,700 to $14,500 range. That covered removing 203 feet of old gutter, 203 feet of new 6-inch gutter with DoublePro covers, 125 feet of downspout, nine hand-mitered corners, the valley and barge diverters, counter flashing, and the fascia and rafter tail repairs approved on site.

The biggest cost drivers here were length, the gutter covers, and the wood repair. DoublePro alone was close to a quarter of the job. A home without covers, with sound fascia, or with a simpler roof that needs fewer diverters would land lower. This range reflects the scope of this completed project and is not a current quote.

What homeowners with similar properties should know

Budget for the wood behind the gutter. On this home the fascia and rafter tails were only fully visible once the old gutters were off. If your gutters are old and the fascia has never been checked, ask how the crew handles rot found during the job and how those changes get approved.

Count your valleys. This roof got seven valley diverters. On a cut-up roof, these small pieces matter as much as the gutter size.

Under heavy evergreens, consider covers at the same time as new gutter. Putting DoublePro on during the install means the hanger and cover go up together.

Related questions

How much does gutter replacement cost in Woodinville, WA?

This Woodinville replacement fell in the $8,700 to $14,500 range for 203 feet of 6-inch gutter with DoublePro covers, 125 feet of downspout, diverters, flashing, and fascia and rafter tail repair. Shorter runs, no covers, or sound fascia bring the price down.

What is a sistered rafter tail?

It is a new piece of lumber fastened alongside a rafter tail whose end has rotted. On this project the crew sistered 16 rafter tails so the new fascia and gutter had solid wood to attach to.

What does a valley diverter do?

It sits on top of the gutter where a roof valley empties and acts as a backboard. Water that would shoot over the gutter hits the diverter and drops in. This home got seven.

Why use DoublePro covers on this home?

The property is surrounded by tall evergreens, and the old gutters were packed with needles and debris. High Point recommends DoublePro for heavy tree cover. It also serves as the hanger, so it was installed with the new gutter.

How long did this project take?

Two days on site, September 18 and 19, 2026, including the fascia and rafter tail repairs approved during the install.
