Home › Projects › Gutter Repair in Federal Way

High Point Gutter repaired a damaged 20-foot section of gutter on a two-story Federal Way home in October 2026. Instead of replacing the whole system, the crew removed the damaged run, installed 20 feet of new 5-inch K-style seamless gutter with DoublePro gutter covers, and tied the new section into the existing gutter at the corner. The homeowner had the assessment and signed the quote on October 5, and the repair was done the next day.

The problem: one damaged run

The homeowner booked a gutter repair assessment for the morning of October 5. The note on the signed quote sums up the job: a quick repair of 20 feet of damaged gutter, with covers, scheduled as soon as possible. The rest of the gutter system stayed in place.

Why replace a section instead of the system

Only one 20-foot run was damaged, so High Point quoted a gutter repair that replaced just that run. A note on the quote records the gutter color as Low Gloss White.

One important detail on this repair was where the new gutter meets the old. The quote covered a corner re-do: tie the new gutter into the existing system at the corner, then reseal it. High Point reseals a corner by removing the old sealant, wire-brushing the metal, and applying high-grade silicone.

Covers on the new section

The new 20 feet went up with 5-inch DoublePro gutter covers. DoublePro is a continuous hanger with a built-in cover, so it holds the new gutter and covers it in one piece.

Flashing at the roof edge

The quote included 4 feet of counter flashing, which is tucked behind the existing drip edge to close the gap between the roof edge and the top of the gutter. On the repair visit, the crew’s notes record that they also installed 10 feet of starter flashing.

Gutter repair cost in Federal Way, WA

This project fell in the $1,100 to $1,900 range. That covered removing 20 feet of damaged gutter, 20 feet of new 5-inch gutter with DoublePro covers, the corner tie-in and reseal, and the counter flashing.

The length of the damaged run drives most of the cost of a section repair. Leaving off the covers would bring this one down. Damaged fascia behind the gutter, or more than one bad run, would push it up. This range reflects the scope of this completed project and is not a current quote.

What homeowners with one damaged run should know

One bad section does not always mean a full replacement. On this home, 20 feet was replaced and tied into the rest of the system.

Ask how the new section will join the old one. Here the joint was at a corner, which was tied in and resealed.

If you are thinking about covers for the whole house later, ask about adding them to the new section now. This homeowner put DoublePro on the 20 new feet.
