New 6-inch gutter and downspout along the rear roofline of a two-story home in Kent, WA

Home › Projects › Gutter Guard Installation in Kent

High Point Gutter installed DoublePro gutter covers on 104 feet of new 6-inch gutter at a two-story Kent home in January 2026. The homeowner first asked about a repair or partial replacement. The approved quote replaced the whole system instead: the old gutters came off, 104 feet of 6-inch K-style seamless aluminum went up in Clay with 101 feet of matching downspout, and every foot of new gutter got a DoublePro cover. The assessment was December 29, 2025, and the install was January 9, 2026.

What the homeowner asked for

The request came in on December 24 as a gutter repair or partial replacement. The estimator visited on December 29, photographed the front and back of the house, and sketched the gutter runs. The back of the home has a raised deck with a staircase, and a black drain pipe runs along the lower level beneath it.

What the quote covered

The approved quote was for a full replacement with covers rather than a patch. It had four main parts: removing and recycling the existing gutters, 104 feet of new 6-inch K-style gutter, 101 feet of new 2×3-inch downspout, and 104 feet of DoublePro covers. One downspout hardpipe rounded it out.

The quote describes 6-inch gutter as a larger size for handling more water and debris than standard 5-inch. Per the quote, the gutters hang on heavy-duty hidden hangers every 2 feet with 1.5-inch screws and neoprene washers, use rectangular preformed outlets sealed with rivets and silicone, and were set to slope with torpedo levels.

Why DoublePro covers

DoublePro is made by Alu-Rex. It is a continuous hanger with the guard built in, so the piece that holds the gutter to the house is also the piece that covers it. Installed with new gutters, the covers go on as part of hanging the gutter rather than as a separate add-on. That makes DoublePro the gutter guard High Point paired with this full replacement. The assessment photos also show tall evergreens near the house.

Alu-Rex states in the product description included in the quote that DoublePro carries a lifetime manufacturer warranty on materials, durability, and clog-free performance, including in pine areas. Homeowners should read the manufacturer’s current warranty terms for the details.

How the installation was completed

The crew did the job on January 9, 2026. They removed and recycled the old system, hung the new 6-inch gutter with the DoublePro hangers and covers, and ran 101 feet of Clay downspout and installed one hardpipe.

Gutter guard installation cost in Kent, WA

This project fell in the $3,500 to $5,900 range. That covered removing the old gutters, 104 feet of new 6-inch gutter, 101 feet of downspout, 104 feet of DoublePro covers, and one hardpipe.

The new gutter and the covers were the two largest line items, and they were close in cost. Adding covers to existing gutters would remove the gutter and downspout cost, but only makes sense if the existing gutters are in shape to keep. On this house the homeowner chose new gutters and covers together. This range reflects the scope of this completed project and is not a current quote.

What homeowners considering gutter guards should know

A repair request can turn into a replacement quote. This one started as “repair or partial replacement” and the homeowner approved a full system with covers.

If you are replacing gutters anyway, ask about covers at the same time. With DoublePro the hanger and the cover are one piece, so they go on together.

Read the warranty yourself. Manufacturer warranty terms vary by product and can change, so check the current terms before choosing a cover.
